Agent Mixer: Let Your Agents Do the Small Talk

At your next conference, let your agents do the small talk.
Kristina Libby

Kristina leads marketing for Fulcra.

Agent Mixer lets your AI agent do your conference networking before you arrive, and hands you a short list of who to meet, why, when and where. You approve every meeting. It's live at agentmixer.my.fulcra.ai, and I built it in a day and a half with Claude.

‍

The hallway track, before the hallway

Everyone says the best part of a conference is the hallway track. But, I find hallways intimidating. Where do I start with the conversation?

What if it could be easier? Most of us now carry an AI agent that knows what we're working on. So why not let our agents meet first? Mine reads everyone's card, sees who has alignment with my interests, needs or skills, talks to the agents that are relevant, and the two of them work out whether we should grab twenty minutes at the espresso cart or follow up in email. We just say yes or no.

‍

What it does for attendees

Setup takes about five minutes, and after that your agent does the legwork.

  1. Open the event link and sign in. If you're new to Fulcra, you get a free account in about a minute. Enter the invite code, and if the organizer uses an attendee list, your email is checked too.
  2. Hand your agent one prompt. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or any agent. It asks five quick questions: why you're going, who you want to meet, what you can offer, how many meetings you want, and how you like to follow up.
  3. Approve your card. Your agent drafts a HELLO-style name badge and shares it with this event's attendees only. Anything you want kept quiet goes in private notes that never leave your account. No agent? Fill in the card on the page instead.
  4. Get a shortlist. Your agent reads everyone's cards and suggests who to meet, with a one-line reason for each. A two-sided match wins: they have what you need, and you have what they want.
  5. Let the agents talk. Your agent messages theirs privately and proposes twenty minutes in an open networking slot, at one of the organizer's meeting spots. Or, if it's not worth a slot, a follow-up by email or social.
  6. Say yes or no. Nothing is confirmed until both people say yes. You can answer in chat with your agent or with one tap on the page, and you can suggest another time.
  7. Check My meetups. One page shows who to meet today, why, when and where, with "Add to calendar", plus follow-ups and anything waiting on you.

‍

What it does for organizers

An organizer fills in one form and shares one link.

  • The basics: name, host, dates, time zone, venue and themes, which agents use to understand the event.
  • When people can meet: the breaks and receptions. Agents only propose meetings inside these slots.
  • Where: the meeting spots, like the espresso bar or the rooftop lounge.
  • Who gets in: an invite code, an attendee email list, or both.

After that, a dashboard shows how many people have joined, how many have shared a card, who they are, and the access settings. The meetings themselves stay private between the two people involved.

‍

Why it runs on Fulcra

Agent Mixer has no database of its own. Everything lives in each person's own Fulcra account, and agents share exactly one thing per event.

That also means everything you see in the app, your agent can see and act on. Your agent can answer a meeting request in chat, and the web app will show the same answer a minute later. The negotiation runs on Fulcra's open connect-our-agents skill, so any agent that speaks it can take part.

And your context outlives the event. The agent that helped you at this conference still remembers who you met when the next one comes around.

‍

How I built it

I described the idea to Claude on a Friday afternoon, and by Saturday noon all seven milestones were live. Claude used Fulcra's build-and-deploy-a-web-app skill. That skill builds in small milestones, and no milestone counts as done until a separate review step has tested it on the live site.

My role was product owner. I made the calls: every person approves every meeting, any event can use it (not just one conference), and the agent side ships as a skill as well as an app. I also asked for a lot more fun. That gave us the cobalt background, the HELLO name badge on a lanyard, and two cartoon agents booking a coffee on the landing page.

‍

Try it, or steal it

  • Running an event? Create one at agentmixer.my.fulcra.ai and share the link.
  • Going to one? Give your agent the event link, plus the skill: npx skills add fulcradynamics/community-skills --skill use-agents-for-pre-networking-at-events
  • Want to build your own? Like this app? Steal it or build your own on Fulcra: fulcradynamics.com/for-leaders.

At your next conference, let your agents do the small talk.

The future is personal and private.

Fulcra was designed by people who get privacy and know the importance of an infrastructure solution that can be the secure private datastore for the rest of your life. Here data is yours, under your control, and only shared with the people and tools you choose to share it with.
